I have Microsoft Word 2002 and have just put in a new
hard drive in my computer. I cannot re-install Word. I am
getting this error message...Error 1335, the cabnet
file 'office.cab' required for this installation is
corrupt and cannot be used. this could indicate a network
error, an error reading from the CD-ROM, or a problem
with this package.
I am not connected to a network, the CD-ROM drive is new,
and has not given me any problems installing anything
else. I tried to get on-line support, but they want a
product id #. since i can't install the product, i can't
get that info. i have the product key, but that is not
what they want. this is really getting on my nerves!!
please help!!!!!

Would it be possible to copy the entire contents of the cd to your hard
drive.
Then run the setup exe that was just copied. This should be a workaround.
If the copying process fails then i would guess that the disk is scratched.
