i know you can customize folders in xp, with the exception
of my docs, my music, and my pics, among others. my
problem is that a lot of my folders (and drives) are
showing the wrong tasks. for example, c:\windows shows
music tasks, as do my pics and my root drive. has anybody
else encountered this problem? does anybody have any
suggestions? thanks!

Hi Elber,
It appears that the PropertyBags are out of wack on your machine. Please
try the following to correct the issue:
My Computer - Tools - Options - View Tab
Click Reset All Folders. Click Ok.
Close and reopen My Computer and see if that corrected the issue.
Thx,
Nico
