USB Gaming Problems

I have a microsoft sidewinder gamine controler and i have
windows xp i went out and bought a USB adaptor and when i
plug everything in and go to the game control in control
panel it tells me that the USB Adaptor is ok and when i
add the sidewinder game gntrol it says that it isnt
conected how can i fix that

The SideWinder USB adapter works only with SideWinder USB game controllers.
You may damage both your game controller and your computer if you attempt to
use the SideWinder USB adapter with any other game controller.

i have the microsoft game controller and i purchased an
adaptor for the controller so that i can plug it into the
USB port the adaptor is just one from radio shack

The problem might be in the adaptor to the sidewinder. Radio Shack isn't the
best choice for hardware.

good point but it was the only place i could find the
adaptor for the game pad thats the only reason i perchased
it there
