The file search tool of "My Computer" is not functioning
properly. If searching for a file (by file name), it
correctly searches a specific folder, but fails to search
any of the subfolders. I've run registry cleaners of
Norton SystemWorks and OnTrack Fix It 4.0, but still no
luck getting it to work properly.

Dennis,

In Search Options, you can enable "Search sub-folders" under the =
