On June 16 I posted a problem I was having getting my Dell
machine with Windows XP Pro to automatically configure and
recognize the Belkin USB hub I attached - it kept saying
the driver wasn't correct, but there were no updated
drivers on either the Microsoft nor the Belkin sites.
Since my response is now deeply buried I thought I'd re-
post to let anyone who is having similar problems know how
to fix it.
The fix was rather easy. By chance I happened to read
something on the Belkin Web site about Dell (and also
Compaq) not doing full driver installations when it
installs Windows XP on its machines. Lo and behold, there
was a driver installation disc that came with my machine
and I found the USB driver folder, extracted the files,
and everything now runs smooth as silk.
