I just received my new system.
The problem is that while I ordered an AMD Athlon XP
2400+, Both Windows (XP) and the BIOS startup screen tell
me that I have 1800+.
Is there any way to fix this, or my dealer just tried to
fraud me?

Hello
Does your board support that chip, also can you provide model
and type of board that you have. Have you updated your Bios for
the board that you currently have. Also in the Bios change your settings
from 100mhz to 133mhz ok.

Not good news. Check with supplier and make sure. Only way to really tell
is to remove fan and look at chip. Hope you purchased from a reputable
dealer. Having said that I have a 2200 and Some dia software will show it
as a 1800. mabey someone will explain this better than me.

The FSB speed is set incorrectly in the BIOS.
You should be running at 133/133/33 but are running at 100/100/33.

As a side note the 1800 could be identifying the speed of the chip. I
noticed that in some dia program.
