I'm having the same problem on my XP Pro computer that
I've had almost a year now. It won't read ANY of my
extensive old Win98 and Win95 floppies. It insists that
the disk in A: is not formatted. In utter frustration, I
tried to format the disk and after cranking a few moments
it says it can't format the disk either. The system
declares the floppy drive as operating normally. Has
this got something to do with the FAT files??? I've
spent over an hour scanning messages as far back as
January,2003 and have seen numerous similar situations,
but no real helpful replies. Surely, someone has a fix
to so basic a problem. Until I see it, my entire multi-
year floppy collection is useless.

Help us out folks, PLEASE!!!

I've had this happen under W98SE and the only cure was to format and
reinstall the OS. The disks were readable after that. :(

Yes, your floppy drives are misaligned. The most prevailant
is when the eject button sticks.
