CD-RW

I use Windows XP Pro and cannot seem to make a cd-rw that
works. The cd-rw always comes out with a read only
attribute that the computer will not lwt me change. I can
use other cd-rw's that where created on other computers
and they work fine and allow me to backup info from my
software. But I cannot create a cd-rw that will allow me
to rewrite to it because it always has the read only
attribute. Very displeased with this XP Pro and confused
to no end. HELP!!!
