I have a Sager NP6650 laptop and I'm trying to install
Windows XP Pro Corp edition, but the screen goes black and
the install process stalls in the middle of installing
devices. It makes a clicking sound, then the screen turns
black, and the computer stalls. What's going on? How do I
install Windows?

Suggest you pay for a retail copy and try again!

If you have a so-called "Corporate Version" of Windows XP, that=20
indicates you have an illegal copy. There is no such thing as a
"Corporate Version". You need to go out and purchase a "Retail
Version" of Windows XP.

Greetings --
Actually, there is no such thing as WinXP "Corporate Edition."
That is a term applied to pirated (iow, stolen) copies of the Volume
Licensed WinXP Pro by the "warez" aficionados.
Most likely, it's a hardware problem.
Before proceeding, you should ensure that all the PC's components
are capable of supporting WinXP. This information will be found at
each of the PC's component's manufacturer's web sites, and on
Microsoft's Hardware Compatibility List:
(http://www.microsoft.com/hcl/default.asp). Computer components
designed for use with Win9x/Me very often fail to meet WinXP's much
more stringent hardware quality requirements. This is particularly
true of many models in Compaq's consumer-class Presario product line
or HP's Pavilion product line..
Can you obtain WinXP-specific device drivers for your PC's
components, and any necessary motherboard BIOS updates? Additionally,
you can download and run Microsoft WinXP Upgrade Advisor to see if you
have any incompatible hardware components or applications:
