iexplorer wont stop trying to access the internet it
constantly appers in the task manager for a couple of
seconds and then disapears this goes on repeatedly for a
bout ten mins atime please help

Do you mean the Taskbar? Usually at the bottom of the screen. (We usually
don't see the Task Manager unless we ask for it.)

Do you have a dial-up modem? Or broadband? Are any programs in your
Startup folder trying to connect to the Internet - or to somebody's
individual computer? At the Run prompt, type msconfig.exe and see what you
have running in the background. Some of these may be legitimate (like
Norton's Live Update or WinXP's automatic update); others may be "spyware".
