Hi,
i have a problem with the recognizing of a partitioned cf-card in
Windows XP. My system is a toshiba-laptop with Win ME, Win XP an SuSE
Linux. For the reading of cf-cards i have a Kingston PCMCIA-adaptor. The
cf-cards have 128 MB in two partitions, first partition is Linux, second
(as a logical disc) is FAT. In Win ME i can put the card in the
PCMCIA-Adaptor, and Win ME reads the card and is showing me the second
partition without any problem.
In XP it reads the card, but is showing me the _first_ partition and
says:"This drive is not formatted". The disc-manager is showing both
partitions, but without any drive-letter and withoud any filesystem. If
i want to give the second partition a letter, XP says that the system
has to be restarted to activate this partition. If i do the restart,
nothing happens, all the same as before. How can i get XP to recognize
the card like Win ME does it? I tried to format the second partition in
FAT12, FAT16 and FAT32, but this has also no effect to XP.
Any suggestions?
Thanks in Advance, Jens
