I recently bought a usb pc camera and tryed to use it.
The only thng that happened was that it detected it and
then it said it was an unknown device, even though i
installed it like it was told. Any help?????
I have a Biostar M7VIG Pro motherboard w\ AMD Duron
1.3Ghz processor.

Try ALL these things.. First, go into Device Manager in Control Panel and if
there is a yellow question mark next to that particular device, right click
on it and try to update the driver.. (assume you are using XP?)..
The delete the device from the system, reboot and allow XP to re-detect
the device hooked to the USB port..
try these things one at a time...... You will probably have to install some
of the software that came with the camera, usually XP has most other
compatible drivers for stuff, but in the case of the camera, maybe not..
Final thought; have you checked to see what kind of USB situation you
have? Is it USB2 or 1.. The camera will undoubtedly work on either 1 or 2
but it would help to know if you have an 'enhanced USB control device' in
there anyway for the future stuff you may want. Good luck...

I had a similar situation and couldn't figure out how I was making this
process so complicated. Turns out the camera was bad. The new one worked
right out of the box.
