My old CD-RW drive went out, and has been replaced with a
MagicSpin CD-RW, but I can't get it to work with XP. My
MagicSpin CD-ROM 56x works fine after I put in my XP CD and
installed it, but the same isn't so with the CD-RW. Is
there anyway to get my CD-RW to work under XP, or am I out
of luck?

Hi Justin,
Was the 52x CDRW made for XP?
Check this out on the MagicSpin
site.
How, exactly did you go about
finding out whether the CDRW works
with XP or not?
And what program did you
use to test whether the CDRW
worked or not? And does the
BIOS detect the CDRW at all, if you
connect it to the motherboard?
If you're using the default CD burning
program of XP, forget it. It doesnt
do packet-writing. Get something
like CD Creator, INCD, or Nero.
And install it, then the burner may
work. And also, did you change
the CD and CDRW to master and
slave on the secondary channel, on
the IDE port?
