I have tried to use my Samsung SCL770 Hi8 camcorder and
XP will not recognize its existence. XP does not seem to
have a driver for the cam, nor have I been able to find
one. A phone call to Samsung revealed they do not have
an XP driver and probably will not try to create one. A
phone call to Dell indicated they did not know of where I
could get a driver, but the Dell tech checked everything
out and the computer seems to be OK. The SCL770 is
analog and therefore I am trying to bring the video into
the PC through a BUS port and the audio through the sound
card input. Any ideas?

I also have an issue with this camcorder. My friend just bought it
and it seems to work fine. However, he was trying to install the
samsung software so he could download the snapshots and it wouldn't
work. I tried it out and I verified that the OS does see the
camcorder and it does seem to work because I launched yahoo messenger
and started up the web cam feature and it was displaying properly. I
then found that the software wasn't working properly. I went to the
samsung website to see if there were any updates or new software
available but couldn't find anything. Is there any other software
that will download the images from a camcorder to the PC? Will Adobe
Photoshop do this or only edit them? Thanks for the help guys.
