When I try to install my joystick the following message
comes up:-Missing gameport or gameport drivers:-Your
gameport or gameport drivers are not properly configured
please consult the device manager. When I consult Divice
Manager and click on the driver details(driver version
5.1.2001.0)the following message comes up:-Plug and play
monitor:-no driver files are required or have been loaded
for this device. According to Plug and play monitor
properties the device is working properly. And the device
is Enabled. I disabled it and then re enabled it with no
problem. I Flushed my computer with @Bios a while ago but
it is long since last I used the Joystick and I do not
know whether the Plug and Play problem allready existed
prior to the Flushing.

Help on this problem will be appreciated very much.Thank
You.

What problem, Jeebus? Since you posted from some web access (maybe one
of those so-called messageboards that pretends to be a tech site but
really is just sucking posts off Usenet), I don't have any of your
previous question. First, learn to use a newsreader (information to
help you is below) and then come back and explain the problem. Make
sure you give a full description of your hardware, the problem, if your
gameport ever worked, what changed, what troubleshooting steps you've
already taken, etc. - anything that will help people who can't see your
machine help solve your problem.

Without knowing anything more, if you are having problems with your
gameport:

1. Reinstall your sound card drivers. Get drivers from either the device
mftr.'s website or if you have an OEM machine (HP, Dell, Sony, etc.)
from the OEM's website for your specific model machine.

2. There may be a physical problem with the sound card itself. Either
try the card in another machine and test or swap it for a known-working
sound card in your machine and test.

Gameport drivers are on there way out! Only available drivers can be found
to be built into XP itself.

If you still can not get the drivers to work, consider replacing the
gameport device with a USB version!
