Hi,
I hope someone can help me.

I've networked my son's computer to mine and each recognises the other as
I've done the "ping" test by following the WinXP Help and the shared files
are visible to both. Mine connects to the internet via a DSL connection to
BTInternet OK and my son's connects to the msn homepage but doesn't go any
further whatever web site we try to connect to.

Everything in "Control Panel/System Properties /Device Manager is OK also.

Do I need to contact my ISP or is there something I'm missing?

A customer at work told me that both DNS settings have to be the same.Is
this true as there is one digit difference between the two computers dsn
numbers. If so, how do I change them.

Sorry to go on at length.

Try going here and read about PPoE. It has been known to cause troubles with
ICS. http://www.annoyances.org/exec/show/article04-105

The home page is http://www.annoyances.org/exec/show/category04 it deals
with networking problems.
