More CD Burnings Problems

I use XP Home and can successfully save files to a blank CD using Windows
XP's built in burner. But I
understand that, provided the CDR is not full, I can add more files to the
CDR in another session. However, Windows seems to make the CDR full on its
first write, even though I haven't written 700MB to it. Any clues how I can
fix this?

Use a real burning program. Try Nero or EZCD 6.
