View Full Version : Cut off page when printing from HP LaserJet 4000

Howdy - Anybody seen this problem? When printing to a
networked HP LaserJet 4000 (or 4050) occasionally (once a
day/week) the bottom two to three inches get cut off the
page. Retrying the job has the same results. Print
preview shows it cut off as well. The work-around is to
change to another printer and change back. I've added
more memory and tried a variety of different
communication and spooling settings - not to mention
trying Microsoft's and HP's versions of the drivers - to
no avail.

Even if you don't have an answer, comiserations are
welcome. Seriously.

Yep, seen it on the 4050 with PCL6 driver. The problem is in the way the
device driver is set for that printer. We have 6 shared 4050s on our Win
2000 Server system with 50 workstations. All but one work OK. The driver
settings for that one is incorrectly configured by our NW Admin and I can't
get him to change it. If you don't have admin rights to change printer
settings on the network contact your administrator.

If you are the admin. uninstall the driver on the network and reinstall it
or have everyone use either the PCL5 or PS driver for the printer. That
should solve the problem.

Thanks LV - I've configured every which way - including
the pcl5 (we don't have PS on those) - but I've been
trying LJ5, 4si, 4100, etc. drivers and I think I'll
eventually get one to be all/end all. I hope. Thanks for
the post and good luck with your admin (sounds freaky.)
