I'm Over-attached

It seems that every email (OE) in my Inbox, Sent Items, AND mail I send
shows an attachment clip, which shows the Explorer logo and an attachment
identifier, which doesn't open up, but, as I said appears on all my mail..
Any helpful ideas appreciated by this new-to-the-game user.

If the blue e is representing html files, you could change your settings
in OE to display mail you read in html (or same manner as sent). However
risks are involved with that change - embedded scripts, requests for
images from websites that confirm your address for spammers, etc.

Using the Plain Text setting is safer. You *should* still be able to
pick out the message from the text form of the html. No need to open the
attached files unless you want to. It's perfectly acceptable to ignore
them too.

Caution advised on opening files from anyone. Even a friend could have a
virus, not know about it and their email is sending stuff out behind
their back. If still wanting to open a file, save it to the hard drive
and scan it with your antivirus program *before* opening!

The setting to allow attachments to be opened, saved or blocked in OE is
in the Tools> Options menus under Security.

search engine and when you find a site, download and
install it [it is free]. Then scan your entire system

stuff you have implanted in your system. AdAware 6 from
Lavasoft is a less through program, but the basic version
is free. Hope this does the job for you.
By the way, if you cannot locate a Spybot source, say so
in an E-mail and I will send it to you.
