Jennie! Don't view me as an authority on anything at all,
but might the easiest way in the long run, instead of
struggling which takes for yonks, to simply uninstall
Outlook Express and re-install it? Don't forget to save
your address book to floppy! Bruce +++

In XP, you cannot uninstall OE. You can however repair it. See item Q318378
at the MS site.
