ive just bought a secondhand laptop? it had windows 98 on
it ...i decided i wanted xp home ...but the problem is
the modem? its called thinkpad modem ...how do i find out
if its compatible with xp could someone help me
plz...step by step

Go to the website of the laptop manufacturer and check that specific
model for Windows XP compatibility.

You had better look at the hard drive, memory, and cpu speed before you
worry about the modem. Also whether you have a cdrom and floppy drive.
Since you failed to give us important information you really will not get a
decent awnser.
