COM 1 use

I just got a new Nokia serial connection to sync my nokia
phone with my comp. I am hooking everything up
correctly, but it's not finding the phone, and/or it says
the com1 port is already in use...any help?

Out of curiosity, do you have Quicken loaded on the computer? I had a problem
once with my computer not being able to hibernate because it said the com ports
were in use. I did not have anything connected to them so I knew this was not
correct. I did a Google search and found a mention on Dell's forum about
someone else with the same problem, some suggested the problem could be related
to Quicken's background download manager--that was what was causing my problem
too. I turned it off and was able to hibernate the system.
