I want to add a new search provider for address bar searches. When I go to Customize Search Settings, then click on Autosearch settings, I only have a limited selection to choose from under the pull down, Choose a search provider for address bar searches. I want to add Excite to this list but do not know how. Does anyone know how to do this???? I have XP and am using Internet Explorer 6.0.

first do a search with excite, search for the word - Replace - or anything else - copy the URL from the address bar (rightclick - copy it) after search is complete. back in internet explorer select quick search, new, give your excite shortcut a name - ex - click the pull down for search - select - custom URL - paste your copied URL in the URL box and type - %s - next to the - Replace - word.
delte the word - Replace - click OK - click save -

now in the address try it out, like ex ebay or something
