Just tried to reinstall my USB drive (Buslink L model)
which had been working fine. Followed all the
directions, downloaded the Windows XP driver and installed
it. But when I boot up with the USB drive attached, XP
gives the chime and says new hardware located. I click
for it to install automatically, but it says it cannot
find the driver. I tried Pointing it at the Manufacturer
CD, at the supposed location it installed the driver
(C:\program filed\USB-IDE Bridge Driver folder - which
only contains an uninstall file) and at lots of other
places (Windows/inf, windows/inf/other windows/system,
wetc. How can I get it back working?
By the way, the drive is shown as installed (at o.80 KB)
in the add/remove programs list. XP just cannot find
it.
I have installed and uninstalled more than a dozen times.
