Microsoft VM upgrade??

Last night I went into the Yahoo Chat rooms. At first a
message popped up saying I couldn't get into the rooms
because I needed to upgrade my Microsoft VM (or MV). I
went into the Windows update thing and had it scan for
updates, I did update one that had to do with the VM
thing. I was then able to get into the chat rooms. Now
tonight when I logged on and attempted to go into the
chat rooms I get the same message but cannot remember
what I did differently that let me get in...I miss my
gardening chats!!! Can anyone help a "computer dummy?"
