How do I change my email so that the mail is not
automatically opened when I go to the inbox????

In OE go to View, Layout, and uncheck Show preview pane. If you're
referring to a different e-mail program, then you need to tell us which one.

You can also right click the toolbar, choose Customize and add the Preview
button, which will toggle the Preview Pane on and off.

Even better, with OE6 SP1 you can go to Tools | Options | Read and set it to
read all messages in plain text.
