missing program.exe

I am unable to open JPG files sent to me. It appears that
while I was deleting a program I also deleted my
program.exe file and now when JPG files are sent to me in
outlook I'm unable to open them. I get a msg. that says
that it cannot find the file specified. I am running
windows XP home.

"Cannot find program.exe" when trying to double click on a file is a generic
message. Windows doesn't want program.exe per se, it wants you to tell it
what program to use for those files. Open Paint. Use File> Open and select
to open a JPG. If the file opens, associate paint with this file extension.

If the JPG fails to open, install IrfanView. It's a nice light program that
can read a multitude of file types. And it's free. It should establish the
JPG association for you when you install it.
