Once I lost "paint" and you can find it by going to
control panel add/remove programs choose add/remove
windows components look at the list see if the box next
to paint is checked if not check it, say ok and then look
in start/ programs / accesories/ paint
good luck

A shortcut to it should be in Start | Programs | Accesories. If
you can't find it there, try running it directly from
\windows\System32\mspaint.exe

Is the shortcut not in your Start Menu under Accessories?

The program's executable file should be in your Windows\system32 folder. It
won't turn up in search and won't be visible in Explorer if it's hidden. Use
Folder Options>View to not hide system protected files.
