but if that doesnt help like it probably wont becuase
xp sucks and doesnt have a real startup disk go to
bootdisk.com and get either the winme startup disk or 98
better winme. then put it in a disk restart your compuetr
with the disk in side and when a black screen appears
click on startcomputer with cdrom support then once you do
that type in a: format c: or even better type in c
format c:/ then that should do it and if you can read
follow the instructions after that then to resetup your os
just go back into the black screen and time in you cdrom
drive which is probably e and then setup.exe

Why?
Since the Windows XP CD is bootable and will partition and format the
hard drive, you are adding unnecessary steps.
