View Full Version : SCSI Tape drive seen as a USB device

Hi:

I am trying to install a SCSI Tape drive in a Windows XP
Pro pc. I cannot see the device under the Device Manager,
but can see the SCSI controller where the tape drive is
connected.

I can see the SCSI tape drive in the Add Hardware Wizzard
and is listed as a USB device under the Installed
Hardware window.

Is there a way to force XP to detect the drive correctly?

Install the tape backup drivers. If you are using third party software, ie
Veritas, install their drivers to get the tape backup to be shown correctly.
