Many old Dos Programs work very well with XP.
Just go to the Windows command prompt and type CD\ to put you in the Root
directory.
Run your Dos programs from a floppy or install on your hard drive.
I usually create a desktop shortcut to my old dos programs, like the Windows
Entertainment Pack games, and many others.
