using foreign language symbols

I've tried using the ALT button to insert foreign
language symbols in documents, but it doesn't seem to
work. Any advice? Thanks!

Andrea,

Have you tried using the Character Map? That's what I use to insert a
symbol, foreign character, etc.

Go to Start, All Programs, Accessories, System Tools and you should find it
there. If not, it may need to be installed from the operating system add-ons
by going to Control Panel, Add/Remove Programs and add it to the Windows
Programs.
