How do I install the TWAIN driver in my windows program
or an update on how to avoid hardware conflict with the
interface adapter?

Well, I can give you an example with my canon scanner! There is a small
program (obtained from the Canon support web site) that allows removal of
the old drivers, "prior" to reinstalling them, or newer drivers.

Does the manufacturer of your scanner have something similar?
