welcome screen 'unread e-mails'

when I bought this PC last Saturday, the welcome screen
said I had 190 unread messages. And now, even though
I've read and or deleted them, the message remains the
same. How do I clear it? or get it to update?

To clear, go to TWEAKUI.EXE > Repair. To disable the feature at all go
to TWEAKUI.EXE > Logon > Unread Mail. TweakUI is available from
http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/pro/downloads/powertoys.asp.
