Plug and Play device

I have a label printer that I have installed on the
serial port of a Win XP Pro machine. The device works
fine but everytime I boot the computer it wants to
install the printer again and when I click okay it gives
me an error message saying something about 'unknown port'.

Is there a way for me to tell XP to stop trying to
install the device?
