I am running Windows XP and purchased a WinTV 2000 video
capture card to be able to use the Movie Maker facility.
For a short while this ran well but not any more. I have
downloaded up to date drivers for both the Card and for
Movie Maker (several times)but although the TV
production on the Computer Monitor is good and I can get
my camcorder films to show on the (computer) screen I can
get nothing at all to go through to the Movie Maker
program. As soon as I try I get two error messages. (1)
`The Video device is currently in use. Close any other
applications using the device and try again` and this is
followed by (2) The Video device cannot be used at this
time because there has been an error when starting the
device`. I have contacted the WinTV manufacturers and
they say it is possible that the WinTV card is not
compatible with Windows XP and/or the Movie Maker
program. Has anyone come across this before and had
anyone any suggestions or advice to offer. Many thanks.
