I installed the Sony DRU 500A DVD/RW myself, and am
getting an error message. I am using Nero Burning ROM,
and one of the programs that comes with it is InCD, which
is packet writing software, which allows me to use the
discs like I would a floppy or hard drive. It works
perfect on my CD/RW, which is a separate bay in the
computer. When I try to copy a file using InCD to the
DVD/RW, I get an error message that says "Files on this
CD-ROM are read only. You cannot copy or move files to
this CD-ROM."
Do you know if this error message is a hardware or
software problem? I really like the software, and since
I haven't ever had another problem with it, my guess is
that I didn't flip a flag or something. Prior to
installing this DVD/RW, I had just a plain DVD drive,
which would have been read only.
