View Full Version : Windows XP Pro Printer Driver Problems

I installed Windows XP Pro a few weeks ago and had no
trouble with my HP LaserJet IIIP.

Now when I try to print any document or test page I get a
line of gibberish at the top of multiple pages.

I've tried all of the obvious fixes. The printer works
fine on another system. The cable checks out fine. The
parallel interface is fine.

I've reinstalled the printer drivers also with no luck.

Any ideas on what I can try next?

Thank you,

Mike Mehalick

Check that your printer is not setting to print on
"letter" size paper instead of A4.

My MS generic XP driver for the HP laserjet lll keeps
selecting "letter" and give an error message
"PC LOAD LETTER" which, when shift + reset is activated,
prints the document with a few funny characters at top of letter.

I have selected A4 in the Printer setup and applied it and it still
keeps coming back to "letter' next document to be printed.

BTW works OK in EXCEL97 and ACCESS97 only "plays up"
in WORD97

(I havent got a fix for this ...anyone got any ideas)
Jim
