View Full Version : CD-R/RW and DVD-RW Burning

i am having the same problem as "mcpop". my recordings
are read only. i have a new toshiba 5200 with its own
toshiba DVD/CD-R/RW drive. unfortunately, i don't have
that much hair to pull out.

well, yes, of course your "recordings" you be read only? they are burned to
cd and can not be chnaged..
also, you have a DVD drive with a CD burner, not a dvd burner. - it is a
COMBO drive.

Windows XP CD writing functionality is "session at once" and does not
support modifying files "in place" on the CD.
Windows Longnorn will likely have such functionality - see
http://www.microsoft.com/whdc/hwdev/tech/stream/dvd/dvdrw_support.mspx
For XP, you can try 3rd party packet writing software such as Nero's InCD
which implements such functionality.
