error message

my e-mail carrier is Outlook Express and I have it set as
such in the Internet Explorer Properties. How do I stop
an on screen "prompt" message from appearing on start up
which states "either there is no default mail client or
the current mail client cannot fullfill the messaging
request. Please run MS Outlook and set it as the default
mail client. If I do that I cannot send e-mail messages
directly from Word or other programs.
