Hi everyone!
I have a problem...my friend came over and used the
computer and now things are different...in My Documents,
there are certain files, like temorary ones, that didn't
used to be there. When I go to My Computer or Control
Panel, the background is white now and there is no left
pane. It's just a bunch of icons. And the options (icons)
are different now in Control Panel! i.e. there's
no "Performance and Maintenance" option. I can't figure
out how to change this for the life of me!! Please help!!
Thanks...Celeste
(PS - if this helps, my friend was trying to find
something I had viewed on the internet without being
connected to the internet again...so he was looking
through certain files...)

This would require changing your themes and view settings.
To restore your theme, right click on the desktop and select properties. On
the themes tab, select the windows xp / bliss theme and click apply. If its
already applied, select another theme, then go back to the windows xp one.
Next you can open my computer and then go tools > options. On the View tab,
select reset all folders.
You can add your own custom settings like folder toolbars and sorting
options. I recomend that if you do prefer some theme settings different from
the xp default, then you should save your own theme in the display applet of
your control panel.

or you could do a System Restore to before your friend worked on it?
