thanks nuts.
my original win2k config was dual amd 1.2 GHz palominos on
tyan's s2462 mb. i don't know why but i could never get
the system to go to standby without hanging coming out. i
guessed it was an errant peripheral (turtle beach sound,
matrox g200 video). anyway, i'm thinking of rebuilding
with p4-xeon's. i'd like to think i could hear the hdd's
spin down and the bloody fans at least slow down!! i guess
i'll have to give it a try....
