This problem is on my daughters computer. The computer
starts fine. If you click on the my computer icon on her
desktop, and error report comes up. It has to do with
explorer.exe. You cannot access anything that has to do
with explorer. No control panel, no search, no document
page. We ran a virus check, all is fine there. She has
windows xp, pent 4 with 384 ram. I was wondering if
reinstalling windows would fix it. I think there may be
another file somewhere that is interfering with explorer.
Any information would be appreciated. If you need more
info, please ask.
Thanks for your time
Sharon

There is a good chance that this will work. But you can try the System
File Checker before. At Start > Run type
SFC /scannow
and press ENTER.
