When I let the program access the internet automatically
like when I try to register or let Quicken (Which uses
Windows)it will not connect. I have a DSL connection and
when I run internet explorer it connects fine. My DSL
connection is always on.????

Hi, Allan.
Yes, "always on" is part of the "magic" of DSL - along with the increased
speed. ;<)
We DSL users do not have to dial. But, we also CANNOT dial any phone
number, unless we also have a dial-up modem. So we cannot dial Intuit's
direct number. We have to reach Intuit via the Internet, through our DSL
ISP. It works fine - it's just a different route to the same end point.
Next time you try to register Quicken, read the screens carefully and select
the one that says you want to register via the Internet, rather than by
dialing Intuit's number. It has been so long since I last registered
Quicken that I don't recall the details, but I had no trouble registering
via ADSL.
