512 is the bear minimal I would run in any win xp system
1gb os system mem is perferred.

This is based on something?? You want to run Excel with 1 GB????????
This just doesn't make sense. 512MB is more than enough for normal use.

I must be in really bad shape. I only have 256 MB on two systems and I video
edit, encode and develop software. One of them is a Media Center Edition.
