When my system suspends (either S3 or S4 (suspend to ram
or hibernation), the DVD drive dis appears after it wakes
up. Plextor did not have the problem, this is a sony
drive (DRU-510A) System is a shuttle SS40G, no other
problems.
Any ideas?

Make sure your drivers are as fresh as can be..... Sony is usually very on
top of things like that.
Good luck,

If it hurts, don't do it. I've never understood why people
use suspend to RAM or hibernate on anything but laptops.
PCs have been pretty green for years, so the incremental
power saving is small -- assuming that you allow the I/O
stuff, including monitor, to use their power-saving modes.
