Right click the My Computer, select manage, the storage-disk
management...you have to partition and format the drive.

Hi,
Are you formatted in FAT32? It has a limitation to 32GB.
You can continue to partition the slave HD to several
partitions or you can delete the partition and then
reformat it to NTFS.
The other way round is to install Partition Magic 8.0. It
can resize, remove, add, merge, backup and many other
features for your hard disk. Try download the trial
version from powerquest.com
Remove the first letter m for email.

The trial version works only to the point of being a dummy
gui, it won't complete any operation.
XP is best with NTFS, just reformat the new drive in NTFS.

Some HDs have jumpers to cap the size at 32 GB. RTFM for
your HD to find out. If you HD came without a manual, you
can find one and download it on the HD vendor's website.

If you first created a partition as FAT 32 reformatting to NTFS will
not expand it; just reformat You can either
Right click the remaining free space in the lower right of the Disk
Management where there is a graphic of the disk, and create partition,
saying you want all the rest of the space used, and making it NTFS -
thus having two partitions on the drive
Or right click the present partition, delete it, so that all the space
is free, then r-click again and create partition - using the lot in NTFS
