What happens when your computer detects an error and
sends the error report to microft?
Is there anyway to check on whether this has been
remedied by microsoft?

Microsoft, as far as I know, will not check a single error message.
This is for to let them know which problems are critical in Windows
because they appear in many installations. This may influence what
errors are corrected by patches, service packs or in further versions
of Windows.

Hi Bruce,
To add a bit to Thorsten, start/run eventvwr.msc and check the system =
logs. Open one and click the help and support link. If this is a known =
issue with a possible resolution, the page will provide further =
information.

I usually am redirected to https://oca.microsoft.com/en/secure/status.asp
immediately after I submit the problem, you do however have to have a
passport address to do this
