Hey there....I think I got a virus or trogan horse on my
computer...I had to use the recovery disc and it is still
not working. Now when I go to open an IE window...100+
open on me. I did get norton's back on a scanned and it
says neg..however, it will not allow me to live update as
it opens again 100+ windows...Compaq is sending me new
discs to rebuild the computer. Is this what a virus does
or look like as in 10 years I have never had one.
By the way..this is being sent via my work computer so no
problems or worries for you.

A virus is designed to do damage to your computer's files.
In many cases, eliminating the actual virus file itself will
not undo the damage already caused by the virus.
In your case, a reformat of the drive and reinstall of XP
may be your only option. Then strongly consider installing
a descent antivirus program, such as Norton 2003 Antivirus.

Thanks Nicholas...I guess reformat is what the discs that
they are sending me will do. Also, I have Nortons 2003..I
live update daily and scan the whole thing twice a week..I
think I may have over kill thoughts about virus ills
already. Thanks, Ken

How can you, in all good conscience, use the words 'decent' and 'NAV' in the
same sentence? It is garbageware, causes all sorts of problems with Office
applications and is generally not very nice.

My apologies...actually Norton 2003 Antivirus is an excellent program!
If you haven't used it, then you really should withhold comments.

Err, yes I have, so I'm well qualified to make comments. May I also suggest
you pay a visit to the Publisher group and learn what problems it causes.
You are stating YOUR opinion without being in possession of all the facts -
*I* am not.
