View Full Version : Folder view has changed and I cannot get it back to the way it is supposed to be

Somehow my folder view has changed and I cannot get it
back to the way it was.

I have already been in the folder options, it did not fix
the problem.

Here is the problem: Somehow the folder icons in the
explorer window(left side) have disappeared. I can tell
the folders from the plus sign beside them, but the
actual folder icon is gone.

This is also true in my favorites. They are there but no
icons for folders. Actually I have no icons in my
favorites at all, it is just words. If I click on what
is a folder, it will expand, but I need my icons.

Thanks
Mike

See "How to Restore the Operating System to a Previous State in
Windows XP" (http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=306084).

No go on that one. I just reinstalled XP on a new hard
drive Sunday. There is no restore point to reference on
this issue.

On my old hard drive I had no problem seeing all of the
folder icons.

Any other suggestions?

See if this helps: "The Folders Bar in Windows Explorer Does Not
Contain Any Icons" (http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=307028).
